This descriptive, retrospective study, based on self-reports, aimed to identify the positive and negative emotions experienced by nursing students during their seventh-semester clinical rotations. Of the 150 participating students who completed their rotations in secondary and tertiary hospitals, the majority reported facing stressful situations, expressing negative emotions such as fear, frustration, sadness, anger, and shame. In contrast, students also reported experiencing positive emotions, such as pride and joy, upon completing their rotations. Identifying these emotions is a key indicator for understanding the students' context in the clinical setting. The fear of lacking the necessary knowledge or skills is directly related to the emergence of other negative emotions. Recognizing these emotions is fundamental for implementing emotional support strategies, such as emotional intelligence training, which will enable students to more effectively cope with the challenges of their professional development.
