Glycoscience is a science that studies glycans, one of the four types of fundamental biological macromolecules of living things. Glycans are the most abundant macromolecules on the planet, however, compared to nucleic acids, proteins and lipids, are the least studied. The study of glycans is an area of opportunity to identify their participation in the main physiological and pathological processes that affect the human being.

La glicociencia estudia los glicanos, uno de los cuatro tipos de macromoléculas biológicas fundamentales de los seres vivos. Los glicanos son las macromoléculas más abundantes en el planeta; sin embargo, si se comparan con los ácidos nucleicos, las proteínas y los lípidos, son los menos estudiados. El análisis de los glicanos es un área de oportunidad para identificar su participación en los principales procesos fisiológicos y patológicos que afectan al ser humano.
